Remember the old saying for March, “In like a lion, out like a lamb”?  This March the winds of change (mainly with Uranus and Pluto preparing for their final exact square and a solar eclipse in Pisces), March arrives as a roaring lion.  And forget the lamb this year, March ends with the same lion, hopefully pacified by Venus in stabilizing Taurus.

On the 5th of March, we experience the full moon in Virgo at 15 degrees (rounded up).  With the full moon in Virgo, we want to perfect, purify and fix our lives, but especially around themes found in the house where Virgo is on the cusp.  As we struggle to find the purity of intent, we gaze critically at the world and those closest to us.  We also wonder how to serve the planet in which we find fault.  And I advise focusing on service rather than the problems that weigh us down or we end up in a situation where people complain instead of act.

Since this is the first full moon of the year in a mutable sign and several planets and Chiron transit in mutable signs in 2015, pay attention, especially for children born in the 1960s when Uranus and Pluto were conjoined in Virgo and Chiron transited in Pisces.

Prior to the full moon, the Moon, squared Saturn, opposed Neptune and then moved into an opposition with Chiron and the Sun.  This suggests a number of potential scenarios, but I prefer people serving the planet through compassionate acts.

In addition, the Moon trines Pluto and forms an inconjunct with Venus/Mars/Uranus in Aries.  In addition, Jupiter in Leo trines Venus/Mars/Uranus while powering up fire energy.  Now, we could use that fire energy to give wings to our chosen service.  However, if we align that fire energy with critical thought we could misdirect our anger and cause harm to others.  With Venus and Mars conjunct Uranus hedonism gets out of hand and sex becomes a weapon of destruction.

Other planetary events happening around this earthy full moon include a Saturn-Neptune square (see Whole Astrology blog) and Jupiter in Leo forming a Yod with Chiron and Pluto (which ends on March 24).  This suggests that we hit deadends with our plans so it’s best to concentrate on hobbies now instead of professions or larger projects.  Yods don’t just slow movement, but throws up the stop sign to remind us of divine timing.  And meanwhile, the Saturn-Neptune square dissolves old structure also leaving us in limbo land.  Signs most affected by the Yod are Leo, Capricorn and Pisces.

The Super New Moon in Pisces (29 degrees) on March 20 not only ushers in the first solar eclipse of 2015, but some astrologers round of the new moon so that it appears in Aries. And while I’m keeping the Moon at 29 degrees Pisces, astrologers have a good argument for an Aries new moon.  Right after the solar eclipse, the Moon moves into Aries approximately an hour later and then a few minutes later the Sun moves into Aries thus beginning the spring equinox (northern hemisphere).

Meanwhile, Aries’ planet, Mars continues to separate from Uranus (Aries) which is in an exact square with Pluto (the final square in a 7-part series).  If that’s not enough fire energy, Jupiter in Leo forms a trine with Mars and Uranus.  Meanwhile Saturn (Capricorn’s planet) has gone retrograde further weakening the energy of those in authority (Uranus squaring Pluto could also weaken authority).

I visualize revisiting the Occupy movement (meaning that story isn’t over yet) and I ask those metaphysical folks on board the law of attraction train not to white-light everyone who expresses frustration at this time.  Yes, raise your vibration and don’t get caught up in gloomy news.

However, don’t ignore the warning signs on the planet either or use LoA as an excuse for hedonistic interests.  Instead use your talents and your voice to bring changes to the world.  If you call yourself a light worker then shine light in the world by your loving acts.  If you call yourself an indigo child then join others in service instead of complaining about how no one understands you.

We have powerful planetary energy to work with in creating new beginnings and fairness, but we must act now.  On this day we experience a solar eclipse, an equinox, and the last exact Uranus-Pluto Square (March 12-28), meaning it’s a culmination of previous events launched by the Uranus-Pluto Square series (which began in June 2012), with new beginnings.  If you could wipe the slate clean, what would you write next?

In addition, Venus which moved into Taurus three days prior to the new moon, sextiles Neptune and Mercury in Pisces, meaning, we care about beautifying and healing the planet, not to mention our bodies.  I recommend gardening or placing our feet upon the earth or even sitting with our backs against large trees.  This helps us calm our emotions and ground ourselves.  If weather permits, meditate outdoors.  Getting involved with dance, photography, movie making, music, or spiritual pursuits all go smoothly.  And we can use these endeavors to bring healing to the planet.

For those of us looking for romance, this new moon could bring a spiritually-minded or artistically-minded partner into our lives, especially for those of us with our Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in Taurus, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces.  However, don’t get swept into romantic fantasies or get involved in co-dependent relationships because we believe that person is our twin soul.  As always, practice self-care so that the energies of the solar eclipse/new moon don’t wipe us out.  I believe that the best partnerships involve people coming together to serve the greater good.  And who’s to say that these endeavors lack passion, romance or adventure?

The moons in March, whether we read them as cardinal or mutable energies, ignite movement and transformation.  We feel like roaring.
