Do You Manifest Effortlessly?

2

manifestingA few minutes ago I was on a writer’s site where people post information to help each other in their careers. Someone posted: “Here is the process for effortless manifestation!” And it clicked through to something the person was selling. Big sigh.

I asked myself, “Self, why does it bother you so much every time you see someone selling a product or book or process that touts the idea people can manifest without any effort?”

Self said: “Because this will make one more person who walks down that road become disillusioned and have to u-turn.”

I hear it now. Some of you are mentally yelling at me. “Manifesting can be easy.” “It doesn’t have to be difficult.” “Don’t be so negative.” And you are right – to a point – it depends.

Recently I had a client who was feeling really frustrated because in some parts of her business, results just seem to  happen with little to no apparent effort on her part. In keeping with my fishing analogy of marketing, she said, “In other areas all I do is stand there and the fish jump into my bucket. In this area, the fish just ignore me.”

In one case for her, manifesting is easy; it’s a breeze. In another area, it’s difficult. Why is that?

Why do some people seem to be able to manifest easily, win contests all the time, and live a charmed life?  (I know several people like this – my mother-in-law is one of them. She is always winning something! You don’t want to play in a golf tournament with her unless she is on your team.) Other people seem to sludge through life, eeking out the barest of manifestations.

Here is my short answer. We’re all here for different reasons and need to have different experiences. Some seem to come here for a holiday and do the least little thing in order to manifest. Others come here with a huge agenda and some past karma to work off. When they want to manifest something, it takes a huge effort. It is completely unfair to think we’re all going to have the same experience.

As for the bucket and fish story. In order for the fish to jump into the bucket, my client still had to get the bucket and go stand next to the lake long enough for the fish to see her and jump into the bucket. She still had to do something. She had to make an effort of some kind.

Please don’t feel bad if it takes effort to manifest. Please don’t fall prey to the sales talk about manifesting being effortless. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it isn’t. What counts is that you are fulfilling your soul purpose – and sometimes that takes effort!

  1. we manifest effortlessly all the time — this is how creation works. everything in your environment is a result of manifestation of your current thoughts. if you want to change what’s being manifested, it’s quite easy — simply change your thoughts. but perhaps this is the most critical/difficult part. your thoughts are embedded in your conscious and subconscious minds — these two aspects must be in synch for one to manifest exactly what they want. one may say, “I want to manifest X” but if they hold negative beliefs about this in their subconscious mind, what they hold within the subconscious will manifest in the end. Dr. Joseph Murphy, Neville Goddard, Florence Shinn, Wallace Wattles…and more teachers have all discussed this. if we don’t rid ourselves of our underlying negative beliefs, it’s difficult, perhaps even impossible, to manifest what we want.

  2. Dear Krysta,
I couldn’t agree with you more. First, I feel your logic is sound. To take your words and put them another way, we all come here with a different set of “cards” to play. Some people come in with all Aces and some come in with threes. This was our own plan in order to grow or “coast” this incarnation.

Secondly, I really feel strongly that there is an 1850’s patent medicine sales pitch feel (and equally acrid taste) to some of the manifesting enhancement programs on the net. There are many that are legitimate and valuable; but, in a spiritual search I find myself going back to the old masters for succor, inspiration, and instruction. I also cling to The New Spirit Journal for no b.s. information.

    All the best,
    Trisha
