Recognizing The Good

When we were in school, we were given a lesson, then we were given a test. How much of the lesson did we retain?

Life doesn’t work that way. We are given the test, then we learn the lesson. I wonder if this strengthens the lesson for us? How often do we see a connection between our experiences, and the lessons we needed to learn at the time? In life we still get quizzed on what we have learned, sometimes we pass, then at times we may fail. If we fail, the lesson repeats itself until we get it right. All of these lessons are for our benefit, they are meant for our growth, and to expand our awareness.

Sometimes the lessons are hidden within challenging experiences. These may be the hardest lessons to learn, because we have to sift through our reaction to the experience, then to uncover the lesson. With hidden lessons in mind, a conversation with my Inner Voice may add some clarity to this subject.

The world is going through some challenging experiences. Is it possible to see the hidden lessons, and recognize the good that may come from these experiences?

Paul writes a conversation with his Inner Voice each day, where Paul asks questions to this higher consciousness and receives answers related to living a more accepting and loving life.

Each situation you encounter has within it a positive lesson that you need to learn at the time. It is through your reaction to the experience that you will discover this lesson, or not. Your reaction is important, because if you react with anger or negativity, you are blocking the guidance needed to see the lesson. When you understand the experience as a place of learning and growth, you will clearly recognize the lessons. The good will come from how you move forward after you have learned the lesson.

Would you explain how good can come from how we move forward after learning a challenging lesson?

The intention of the experience is to react in a positive way, thus recognizing the good in the experience. Even if the experience is challenging there will be a positive lesson within it. The good comes from learning the lesson, then using the lesson to better your life, and improve the situations around you. On the surface challenging experiences may be difficult to overcome, yet they are easier to dismantle if you seek the positive lesson within the experience.

While people continue to focus on the negativity of a situation, they add more negative energy to the situation. They are too focused on the negativity, and this is all they will see and experience. In this case the negative situation has control over them. If people were to discover the good in the experience, they can shift their focus to a more positive frame of mind. This way they control the situation by their positive energy.

It can be a struggle to see the good in negative situations.

There may be nothing you can do about a negative situation. Yet, you do not have to allow the situation to control you emotionally. Recognizing the good in a situation allows you to move forward with new information and a renewed awareness. When you learn to see the positive lesson in a negative situation, you disarm the negativity. In essence, you are taking away its power to harm you as you find the positive lesson.

Will we find a positive lesson in every challenging situation?

There will be positive lessons within every challenging experience. The more challenging the situation the more beneficial the lessons. There may be many lessons within a single experience, each may build upon another. With each new lesson comes new wisdom, this wisdom may be used to look deeper into the experience, with the intention of discovering more wisdom. This cycle of discovery can continue until the situation no longer impacts life in a negative way.

Is there always a positive lesson in challenging situations?

It may be a challenge to discover the positive lessons in a painful experience. The lessons may be of self-forgiveness, awakening your self-love, or accepting that you did the best you could given the circumstances. Experiences such as these have the potential to be the most beneficial for your growth and the expansion of your consciousness, if you are open to the lessons.

Any final thoughts on recognizing the good?

What you expect to see, you will find. If you choose to see reasons to be fearful, then fear will be the result of your experience. Yet, if you choose to look for the good, and learn the lessons meant for your benefit, every situation will be a positive boost to your emotional state of being. Recognizing the good, will help you live life through this elevated awareness.
